SWARTHOS

Okay, I’m pretty stupid. For a couple months now I’ve mistakenly thought a bird was saying “Hi” to me as I walked around inside the compound I work at. Every morning as I would enter I’d hear a squawky sounding voice say “Hi” followed by some unintelligible gibberish.

Our compound is next to a very busy street with traffic flowing constantly in both directions, six lanes worth! So I couldn’t really hear anything above the rush of cars, that is until this morning which is Easter. Not too many cars so it was on the quiet side as I entered the compound and heard “Hi, you are being recorded”. Say what?

So I backed up and looked toward the top of the building next to ours and sure enough, there was a camera mounted on the roof that I hadn’t noticed before. I’m disappointed that it wasn’t a talking bird because for the past couple months I’ve been replying to it with my own “Hi Bird! How are you today?”

Whomever reviews those recordings will think me to be insane.
