Salvation For The Computer Age
Your body is not you. Just as a computer’s hardware is not the program file running inside it.
[Original sin as corrupting virus]
Adam & Eve sinned thereby causing all their offspring to be born with sin inherently within them (The sin virus). If you corrupt a computer program with a virus all programs replicated thereafter will contain the virus.
If your computer should become infected with a particularly tenacious and nasty virus, you would need a skilled and masterful programmer, one with knowledge of the virus and the tools to remove it.
Let’s say you have a favorite program that you have loaded onto your computer, and let’s call it the “soul program”. Should your motherboard fry one day or your hard drive crash. You would lose that favorite program forever. Unless you have it saved somewhere, such as in “the cloud”.
Jesus is the Master programmer and He alone has the best cloud storage. Jesus Saves! But if you die in your sins, that is to have your computer crash with the virus still infecting the files, then there isn’t much worth saving is there? That is why you need the Master programmer now. Jesus alone knows your operating system, He knows how to reprogram the code and remove the sin virus for all eternity.
If you repent and trust in Jesus Christ to be forgiven, then you will receive the gift of eternal life. Your body will die but your soul is going to live forever. Will you have your soul pass from life into eternity still infected with the sin virus? I assure you if that is the case then your soul will be placed into the garbage dump of hell and eventually cast into the lake of fire.
Or upon the death of your body, your soul will have had its internal code repaired, the corrupted sin files within it taken away by the blood code of Jesus. For by our faith in Jesus our soul files are saved in the cloud. Even scripture alludes to this:
Ephesians 2:4-7
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
If you’re saved by believing on Jesus exclusively for forgiveness of sins and salvation then you are already seated in heavenly places! Your soul will be placed into cloud storage. And furthermore, the moment you become saved God will load a new program file into you, the Holy Spirit, that is what being “Born Again” means which is actually saying “Being born from above”.
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
The Holy Spirit resides in every born again believer in Jesus Christ. Helping them to recognize sin (Believe me this is true for the things I used to be comfortable doing, saying, thinking are no longer enticing or acceptable to me) and commune with God Almighty.
So please dear reader. Don’t let another day or hour pass without backing up your soul program files. Place them into the most secure cloud storage there is, for I assure you one day all computers must eventually crash.
[Interesting thoughts to ponder]
- Today we can transfer enormous amounts of data wirelessly from point to point. The data is invisible, weightless and unknowable outside a functioning computer. It is known by its creator (programmer).
- Your soul is very much like this. We can’t see the soul, weigh the soul or know the soul when it is outside of a body. If we humans can transfer huge amounts of data wirelessly through thin air from a computer on earth to a computer inside a space station in orbit. Then how much more can God transfer a soul from a body on earth to a new body in Heaven?
There’s only One Way to be assured of this… Jesus Christ
